The Four
Phases
&
Their
Corresponding Planes
This
chapter explains the intricate workings of The Four Phases. This chapter is color coded to indicate each
phase as follows: echo, astral, muth, and mundane. Color coding corresponds
to the TOL unless indicated otherwise. The Four
Phases are layers of existence ranging from the most etheric echo phase,
becoming denser and denser through the astral phase and then the muth phase, and
finally become the densest in the mundane
phase. The following paragraphs
and chart give detailed information about the four phases.
General Terms
dimension
– also called a
plane. In science fiction/fantasy
terms, a realm separated by space and/or time and/or perception/phase. An alternate or parallel physical plane, such
as Eden, Earth, or Lovea, or a reality separated by phase, such as the astral,
echo, or muth realms. Includes dream
worlds. Not to be confused with the
mathematics or physics concept of dimension.
dimensional reversion –
The “snap back” of an altered aspect of the omni-transmundane or
transmundane replica, in order to match the mundane replica.
kaleidodimensional -- Kaleidodimensional describes the way that
omni-dimensional reality is perceived in a higher dimension, wherein all
realities can be perceived as touching.
They appear to rotate and touch one another like glass in a
kaleidoscope, except that this glass is three dimensional, and four
dimensional, and five dimensional and so on to infinity dimensional, layer upon
layer of rotating and undulating dimensional veils touching one another.
phase – a dimension or plane separated by a state
of consciousness rather than space and/or time only. For example, there is the physical plane,
which is the mundane material world, and the astral plane, which is a
transcendental state of consciousness that is beyond and independent of the
physical plane. A phase is always a
dimension, but a dimension isn’t necessarily a phase.
plane – see dimension.
replicas - the omni-transmundane, transmundane, mort-transterrenus replica,
and mundane replica collectively.
Corporeal items are made up of all four types of replicas and exist on
all dimensions simultaneously.
Mundane
Phase
mundane
phase – This
is the densest phase, and it dominates the mundane worlds. When mundane energy dominates a plane, even
though said plane may be affected by other energies, it is said to be mundane
energy dominate. Everything that is
coded brown is mundane energy dominate.
corporeal
plane - Associated with Sephirah (9.)
Reality, the physical world on the Suturian Tree of Life. Also called the material world or mundane
world.
The
corporeal plane is composed of mundane replica, mort-transterrenus replica,
omni-transmundane replica, transmundane replica, phantasmal mundane carbon, subtle forms and atomus.
The
mundane dominate sections of the corporeal plane:
mundane
replica – the physical world. Anything corporeal. The part of the mundane that is pure mundane
energy.
The
mundane replica becomes/is called the mort-transterrenus replica within
the muth domain, the omni-transmundane replica within the astral domain, and
the transmundane replica within the echo.
Everything that exists in the corporeal plane also has the three
aforementioned replicas. This is the
reason that mundane energy is so dense.
Changes to the mundane replica, via upward causality, automatically
cause synchronous changes to the mort-transterrenus replica, the
omni-transmundane replica, and the transmundane replica.
mort-transterrenus
replica
– a part of the mundane existing
within the muth and a part of the muth existing within the mundane. Mundane energy dominate with a muth energy
influence.
Spontaneous
manifestation from prolonged contact with the mort-transterrenus replica was
least likely, as it was closest to mundane reality of all the subtle parts of
the mundane.
Time
moves more slowly.
omni-transmundane
replica
– a part of the mundane existing
within the astral and a part of the astral existing within the mundane. Mundane energy dominate with an astral energy
influence.
The
astral copy of physical reality that was ghost-like and aetheric. It was shimmering, shifting, swirling, and ever-changing. Even that which normally appeared inanimate
was clearly alive, breathing, and vibrating.
It was the very essence of light.
With astral vision, as with normal vision, one could only see the light
of his or her patron sun.
The
omni-transmundane replica was subject to gravity, but the Kinder within the
astral realm was not. When a Kinder was
within the omni-transmundane replica, one’s willpower was all that anchored him
or her to the ground. Actual contact
with the ground was illusion, as there was a minute space between the Kinder’s
feet and the ground. Additionally, if
prolonged contact was made with the omni-transmundane replica, it could cause
spontaneous closing of the third eye, and thus, send the Kinder back into his
or her physical body.
One
automatically passes through the omni-transmundane replica. One passes through walls without effort. It is the natural state. It is when one uses one’s willpower to
interact that the snap back occurs. Some
deities are powerful enough to master this.
It is a great shock to the physical system, but typically, it does not
harm the Kinder. Snapping back can be dangerous to one who is already in poor
health or otherwise unstable.
Changes
to the omni-transmundane and transmundane replica are only temporary and never
affect the mundane or mort-transterrenus replicas. These replicas eventually “snap back” to
match the mundane replica. This is
called dimensional reversion. However,
temporary effects to the omni-transmundane replica also affect the transmundane
replica for the duration of the effect.
Time is
perceived to move as it does in Eden/Earth/Lovea.
transmundane
replica
– a part of the mundane existing
within the echo and a part of the echo existing within the mundane. Mundane energy dominate with an echo energy
influence.
The echo
copy of the omni-transmundane replica.
However, through echo vision, one could see the light of both suns, both
creation and destruction, simultaneously.
The transmundane replica was subject to gravity, but the Divine Kinder
within the echo plane was not. When a
Divine was within the transmundane replica, one’s willpower was all that
anchored him or her to the ground.
Actual contact with the ground was illusion, as there was a minute space
between the Divine’s feet and the ground.
Additionally, if prolonged physical contact was made with the
transmundane replica, it could cause spontaneous closing of the forth eye, and
thus, gravity kicked in. So one had to
be ever mindful or risk plummeting to his or her doom!
Changes
to the transmundane replica are only temporary and never affect the mundane,
mort-transterrenus replicas, or omni-transmundane replica.
Time is
perceived to move as it does in Eden/Earth/Lovea.
Known locations in the
corporeal plane:
corporeal
portal - If a god wished for his or her flesh
to travel to Earth or Lovea, he or she had to travel through a corporeal
portal. Corporeal portals were rare and
guarded.
Earth – the planet of humans
Eden – the planet of the gods
Lovea – the planet of loveans
Muth Phase
muth phase – This
is the next densest phase after the mundane, and it dominates the muth
domain. When muth energy dominates a
plane, even though said plane may be affected by other energies, it is said to
be muth energy dominate. Everything that
is grey is muth energy dominate.
muth domain –
Associated with Sephirah (6.) Reverie/Musings on Suturian Tree of Life,
the part of the astral and echo realms set aside for the affairs of the unborn
and the dead. Though part of the astral
plane and accessed via the astral plane, the muth domain is none-the-less
considered its own dimension, a pocket dimension within the astral plane.
The muth domain is accessible only to
Seers, Angels of Death, the unborn, and the dead. The center of the muth domain was always the
same distance from anywhere, at the axis mundi of the astral realm. Here, one will find the Medianus Iteru, the
middle pillar, a gateway between life and death.
The muth domain was divided into the
higher muth domain, which was reserved for the affairs of dead/unborn gods and
the lower muth domain, which was reserved for the affairs of dead/unborn
humans/loveans. In the muth domain, time
moves slower.
The muth domain is composed of: mort-transterrenus replica, phantasmal mundane carbon, phantasmal
carbon, omni-transphantasmal carbon, transphantasmal carbon, rudimentary subtle forms,
and the fragmortomus.
In the muth domain, time worked
differently. Time fluctuated; thus, there was no exact differential, but
typically, roughly an hour in the higher muth domain was seconds in Eden, and
an hour in the lower muth domain was minutes in Eden.
The muth dominate sections of the muth
domain:
phantasmal mundane carbon – the part of the muth existing within the
mundane and the part of the mundane existing within the muth. It is muth energy dominate with a mundane
energy influence.
phantasmal carbon –
the spirit world. Anything
dead. The part of the muth existing
within the muth. The phantasmal carbon
becomes/is called the phantasmal mundane carbon within the mundane, the
omni-transphantasmal carbon within the astral, and the transphantasmal carbon
within the echo.
People/places/things within the muth
domain that no longer or never had a physical copy, exists within the
phantasmal carbon. Everything that
exists in the spirit world also has an omni-transphantasmal carbon, and a
transphantasmal carbon, but only has a phantasmal mundane carbon if becoming
mundane. The part of the muth that is
pure muth energy.
Gravity is optional.
omni-transphantasmal carbon – a part of the muth existing within the astral
and a part of the astral existing within the muth. It is muth energy dominate with an astral
energy influence.
transphantasmal carbon – a part of the muth existing within the echo
and a part of the echo existing within the muth. It is muth energy dominate with an echo
energy influence.
Additional information:
Muth energy dominate phases had unique
physics. Being closest in density to the
mundane, and because the physical world facilitated birth and death, the muth
domain allowed more intimacy with physical reality than the rest of the astral
plane.
1.) Incantation of Utsupraestinfra,
Lesser Power: Since everything that
became mundane passed through the phantasmal carbon, (via the muth energy
dominate part of the mundane world known as the mundane phantasmal carbon)
during materialization (such as birth), a phantasmal carbon could be actualized
into physical form, via the incantation of utsupraestinfra. Once made physical, the item or creature was
no longer muth energy dominant, and became mundane energy dominate.
2.)
Hands of the Reaper, Higher Power: In addition to manipulations of the
phantasmal carbon, the muth energy contained within the mort-transterrenus replica made it susceptible to manipulations
by powerful gods as well. Using the
natural flow of energy utilized during reincarnation, this was accomplished by
temporarily raising the vibrational frequencies of the mort-transterrenus replica to that of the phantasmal carbon, thus
making it muth energy dominate again.
Then manipulations could be made, and once complete, the frequency
returned, via passing through the mundane phantasmal carbon, to that of the mundane replica. As a result,
these manipulations create a modified mort-transterrenus
replica, omni-transmundane replica and transmundane
replica, synchronously and
permanently. This was used daily in a
limited way by Seers and Reapers, to perform the feat Hands of the Reaper, used
for manipulating hourglasses in the line of duty. See “Wash, The” in locations.
3.) Incantation of Telephainesthai,
Highest Power: The method described in
2.) can also be used by very powerful gods to perform the incantation of
telephainesthai -- a powerful spell to transport an astral item over a distance
by telekinesis. This item, as a
phantasmal carbon, could then be actualized into physical form, via the
incantation of utsupraestinfra.
Known locations within the muth:
Adjudication Tribunal -- the location of human
afterlife judgment. (astral-centric)
Crystal of Constellation -- houses the
hourglasses of the loveans. (astral-centric)
Crystal of Kismet -- houses the
hourglasses of the humans. (astral-centric)
Evaluation Chamber -- the location of lovean
afterlife judgment. (astral-centric)
Judgment Hall -- the location of
Kinder afterlife judgment. (echo-centric)
Medianus Iteru – used to transport the
souls of the dead, it is the river at the heart of the muth domain, which was
the exact same distance from any point in space or time and flowed both
directions simultaneously. The Medianus
Iteru magically manifested within the bottom most area of the judgment hall.

muth threshold – The part of the muth
realm that is within one’s own mind. The
entry point when one dies. A “door”
between the mort-transterrenus replica and the phantasmal
carbon. (astral & echo-centric)
For starters, this was a double reap,
which was unusual for humans. The status
quo was one reaper, one soul. Moreover,
the subjects were not within the mort-transterrenus replica, which was the muth
stratum of the omni-transmundane replica, where a reaper would expect to find a
tethered soul. Rather, they were inside
the muth threshold, which was the muth stratum of the astral threshold, or the
realm of death inside one’s own mind.
This aberration should not be.
Necromanteion – An
ancient Greek temple of necromancy dedicated to Hades and Persephone. Due to the remnants of strong sorcery
performed by the Greeks, it still existed in the (lower) muth domain.

Prism of Providence - houses the hourglasses
of the Kinder (echo-centric)
Tenfkep – a temple that existed
solely in the muth domain (and thus the astral and echo). It was a temple to those who had gone before,
honoring the dead. (echo-centric)
Twixt - The docks on the Medianus
Iteru serving the Crystal of Constellation’s judgment hall. (astral-centric)
Tween -- The docks on the Medianus
Iteru serving the Crystal of Kismet’s judgment hall. (astral-centric)
Wash, The -- The energy loop that was
used for reincarnation. That energy loop
could be manipulated by certain gods via the feat Hands of the Reaper to effect
the mundane replica from the muth domain.
Reapers referred to this loop as “The Wash.” (Author’s note to self,
I’ve never actually used this term in my books!)
Astral Phase
astral phase – This
is the next densest phase after the muth, and it dominates the astral
plane. When astral energy dominates a
plane, even though said plane may be affected by other energies, it is said to
be astral energy dominate. Everything
that is coded blue is astral energy dominate.
astral realm - Associated with
Sephiroth (1.1 & π.) Ideas on Suturian Tree of Life. The astral realm was a phase (dimension or
plane) of existence.
The astral realm was the collective
animus of all things, even those considered inanimate by man. It was simultaneously all the subtle energies
of everything and nothing, the empty space inside atoms. It was an other space, existing within the
conscious mind of Paradox. It contained
an astral copy of physical reality, called the omni-transmundane replica, that
was the very thought form of that reality as manifested by Paradox. The subconscious mind of an individual
existed within the astral realm, and was called the astral threshold.
Additionally, the astral realm
contained the very thought form of every thought ever had by Paradox, and was
thus vast, timeless, and had limited gravity.
The astral realm was shared by and thus
connected Eden, Earth, and Lovea. In
order to perform his or her godly tasks, Kinder could reach Earth or Lovea in
spirit form, via the third eye, by entering and traversing the astral realm
whilst the deity’s body stayed behind unconscious in Eden (or the Echo realm,
which was much more dangerous), often protected by an attendant or
guardian. Inside the astral realm,
Kinder could converge with his or her twin soul, if desired. Here, one’s third eye perceived light as
one’s eyes of normal vision would see.
Shatter Kinder were a race of strict
dictates, etiquettes, and rules, and Divine Shatter Kinder were not permitted
or required to astral travel to Earth or Lovea without special assignment or
permission.
Finally, the astral realm held
dimensional attributes that were not understood by many.
The astral domain was divided into the
higher astral domain, which was reserved for the affairs of gods and the lower
astral domain, which was reserved for the affairs of humans/loveans.
The astral domain is composed of:
subtle forms, rudimentary subtle forms, ideal forms, thought forms, un-ideal
forms, omni-transmundane replica, omni-transphantasmal
carbon, and the fragmentum and rudis.
Time is subjective and may be fast,
slow, or as on Eden/Earth/Lovea, dependent upon location and observer.
The astral dominate sections of the
astral realm:
subtle forms – a part of the astral existing within the
mundane and a part of the mundane existing within the astral. It is astral energy dominate with a mundane
energy influence.
rudimentary subtle forms – a
part of the astral existing within the muth and a part of the muth existing
within the astral. It is astral energy
dominate with a muth energy influence.
ideal forms – a
part of the astral existing within the astral.
It is pure astral energy.
thought forms – a
part of the astral existing within the astral.
It is pure astral energy. Thought
forms exists solely in the astral realm.
Thought forms never truly live, and thus have no lower energy
incarnations. Thought forms do, however,
have an echo copy, called un-ideal forms, which are more than just exact
opposites of the thought form, for it was everything that the thought form,
upon becoming an idea form, was not. For
example, an un-ideal form of the concept of cold isn’t just hot, but also
everything in between hot and cold, such as lukewarm or even such a vague
concept as comfortable. Thought forms
can never directly manifest as mundane energy.
Alchemical process is always required.
un-ideal forms – a
part of the astral existing within the echo and a part of the echo existing
within the astral. It is astral energy
dominate with an echo energy influence.
Known locations within the astral
realm:
astral threshold – The part of the astral
realm that is within one’s own mind. Can
be a point of entry into the astral realm used by neophytes and human/lovean
occultists. A “door” between the omni-transmundane replica and anywhere on the astral
plane. It manifest the landscape of
one’s mind, much like a dream. Can be
thought of as astral imagination, used to create a self-contained reality manifested
within one’s own mind. i.e. local “thought forms” only.
astral wilds - a place of non-local thought forms, the
imagination of non-local consciousness (collective thought forms from God’s
mind, the strongest influences were from surrounding areas). Undeveloped/undefined/imaginary astral
spaces, such as astral locations without a corresponding physical
materialization. Areas of the astral
plane beyond Surrealia.
Kybos - where The Fates toiled. Kybos existed in the highest reaches of the
astral plane. So lofty and etheric was
the astral energy dominant Kybos that it had no incarnations in the lower
planes, and thus, its location was imaginary and therefore not fixed.
Surrealia – the
fringes of the astral threshold. One
could think of it as the door frame.
Surrealia is the part of one’s own mind that spills out and affects the
astral wilds, whilst simultaneously being subjected to the influence of the
astral wilds. It is a shared personal
space / external space. The mind
affecting the astral wilds, and the astral wilds influencing the mind. A tug of war between the internal astral mind
and the external astral God mind. The
vortex point where “as above so below” mirrors one another, and upward and
downward causality crash into each other.
Often, the untrained get distracted by Surrealia and never travel
further.
Feats Associated with the Astral Plane:
astralport/astral travel – to teleport in subtle
form.
transperceptify / transperceptification
(formerly called transforming) – Highest Power:
The god rips a hole in the fabric of
time, to the point of concept and mutilates reality to suite Paradox’s
needs.
This creates a paradoxical vortex,
which was an action that concurrently rippled backwards and forwards in time
from the instance of action, to have been or will be for as long as perception
deemed fit.
Thus, the manipulated could be taken
from the state of thought form, before it was ever conceptualized as an ideal
form and “is what it is”, to simultaneously suddenly change to its new concept
(or location, or appearance, etc.), whilst always having been what it now is,
all the while the Kinder was unaware of its current state of existence, until
the exact moment that the manipulated suddenly is in its current state of
existence, and the Kinder becomes aware of it as it “now” is.

Echo Phase
echo
phase – This
is the least dense phase, and it dominates the echo plane. When echo energy dominates a plane, even
though said plane may be affected by other energies, it is said to be echo
energy dominate. Everything that is
coded burgundy is echo energy dominate.
echo realm – Associated with Sephirah (0.) Void and the Qliphoth. A phase of existence. The echo realm was a hidden part of the
astral realm, contained within it.
Though part of the astral plane and accessed via the astral plane, the
echo realm is none-the-less considered its own dimension, a pocket dimension within
the astral plane.
Accessible
via the fourth eye, it was inaccessible to humans/loveans and most Kinder. Unlike the third eye or the eyes of normal
vision, through the forth eye, one could see the light of both suns, both
creation and destruction, simultaneously.
Due to the intense fear inspired in the echo realm, the untrained Kinder
dare not enter the echo realm without a Master to guide him or her.
The echo
realm existed within the collective animus of all things within Eden, even
those considered inanimate by petty Kinder.
It was an inner space, existing within the subconscious mind of Paradox,
utilizing that empty space inside atoms.
It contained an echo copy of the omni-transmundane replica, called the
transmundane replica, which was the very thought form of that reality as imagined
by Paradox (both before it is imagined, and after being manifested ~ the paradoxical echo). Gravity behaved as if in the astral realm
proper.
Both Earth
and Lovea have an equivalent to the echo realm of Eden, but the individual echo
realms are not connected. It was
possible to enter the echo realm in spirit form only, though there was seldom
cause to do this.
The echo
realm is composed of: atomus, unnamed, unnamed, unformed still naming,
neither-neither, transmundane replica, transphantasmal carbon, and un-ideal forms.
Time is
subjective and may be fast, slow, or as on Eden/Earth/Lovea, dependent upon
location and observer.
atomus – a part of the echo
existing within the mundane and a part of the mundane existing within the
echo. It is echo energy dominate with a
mundane energy influence.
fragmortomus – a part of the echo
existing within the muth and a part of the muth existing within the echo. It is echo energy dominate with a muth energy
influence.
fragmentum – a part of the echo
existing within the astral and a part of the astral existing within the
echo. It is echo energy dominate with a
astral energy influence.
rudis – a part of the echo
existing within the astral and a part of the astral existing within the
echo. It is echo energy dominate with a
astral energy influence.
neither-neither – pure echo energy
Time is
not perceivable / non-existent and only exists upon existing.
Known
locations within the echo realm:
pitch, the – an inner part of the echo plane, used for echoportation, with
no sensory connection to corporeal Eden.
Inside the pitch, one was surrounded by an intense, moving blackness
that caused motion sickness. Furthermore, one’s perception was changed,
causing disorientation.
Feats
Associated with the echo realm
echoport – to teleport in corporeal form via the echo realm. Echoportation of objects was possible. Objects that directly touched the Kinder,
such as clothes or items in a pocket, were automatically echoported with the
Kinder. Larger items required a great
deal of concentration and energy to perform the appropriate mudra for
echoportation, and thus it was an extremely uncommon feat. The larger the item, the more difficult it
was to echoport. Echoships required a special
power source for this.
Observations
The Four
Phases can be likened to The Four (or Five) Worlds of Kabbalah, though I offer
my own interpretations.
Traditionally,
according to the Golden Dawn, each of the Four Worlds is represented by a suit
of the tarot: King = fire, Queen = water, Prince = air, Princess = earth.
The Four
Phases TOL equivalences would thus be :
King =
echo (void defined), Queen = astral (air / spirit), Prince = muth (fire / water)(QTOL fire / water), Princess = mundane (earth).
On the
Suturian TOL, echo = Ain Soph Aur, astral = Daath, muth = Tiphareth, mundane = Yesod.
This
concept is further reflected in the illustration “The First Rays” on page ___.
