Color Theory ~ Tertiary Colors (Comprehensive Wheels)

Tertiary Colors

Alignment C:  Order (Neutral) Alignment
-Black +White ±Gray
&
Alignment D:  Chaos (Neutral) Alignment
-White +Black ±Gray

When one combines a primary positive color with its neighboring primary negative color, one gets a neutral tertiary color.

This creates the following colors:

Red + Yellow = Orange
Red + Magenta = Magenta Red
Green + Yellow = Green Yellow
Green + Cyan = Green Cyan
Blue + Magenta = Purple
Blue + Cyan = Cyan Blue

+  +  -  =  ±
Or
+  +  -  =  ±
positive plus negative equals neutral

Neutrals can be positive, negative, or neutral.  Tertiary color charge is determined by the composite colors.  Thus, there are two ways to make the same color:

Example 5. (Alignment C:  Order (Neutral) Alignment )(Order Color Wheel):

+Red + -Yellow = ±Orange
can also be expressed as:
+Red + (½ +Green + ½ +Red) = +Orange
+   +   +   +   +   =   +

Note:  The positives are not proportionate!

Example 6. (Alignment C:  Order (Neutral) Alignment )(Order Color Wheel):

+Red + -Yellow = ±Orange
can also be expressed as:
 (½ -Magenta + ½ -Yellow) + -Yellow = -Orange
-   +   -   +   -    =   -

Note:  The negatives are not proportionate!

Example 7. (Alignment D:  Chaos (Neutral) Alignment)(Chaos Color Wheel):

-Red + +Yellow = ±Orange
can also be expressed as:
-Red + (½ -Green + ½ -Red) = -Orange
-   +   -   +   -   =   -

Note:  The negatives are not proportionate!

Example 8. (Alignment D:  Chaos (Neutral) Alignment)(Chaos Color Wheel):

-Red + +Yellow = ±Orange
can also be expressed as:
 (½ +Magenta + ½ +Yellow) + +Yellow = +Orange
+   +   +   +   =   +

Note:  The positives are not proportionate!
