Way of Life ~ Overview of Culture in Eden & University Grades

Way of Life

Overview of Culture
in Eden

The Shatter Kinder and Geist Kinder have very different ways of life, cultural norms, and social expectations.  Both adhere to stringent rules of behavior and even for the chaotic Geist, rebelling against the status quo is unacceptable behavior in the eyes of the ruling gods.  This section deals with some of the rules and protocols followed by the Kinder.

Class Structure - Positions & Titles

This section explains the organizational structure used in regards to the gods hierarchy.

Petty Kinder - gods that were disgraced or out of favor for some reason.  Being without the twin was one way to become a petty god.  They were the lowest class, often slaves or servants.

Tellurian Kinder – an average god.  Tellurian Kinder lived in Eden, but served humanity’s fickle will on the astral realms of Earth or Lovea (the afterlife).

Divine Kinder- The title Divine indicated a special class of Kinder.  A Divine Kinder lived in Eden, but served Paradox’s Divine Will on the planes of Eden.  Divine Kinder were gods to the gods, thus Divine Kinder were closer in frequency to Paradox than regular Kinder were.

Demi-Devine - A special subclass of Divine gods who serve man rather than gods.  They are technically Divine, because they serve Paradox’s Divine Will on the planes of Eden.  This is because man ascends to the god rather than the god descending to man.

Great Magi – An ancient and wise Divine Shatter Kinder with respect and authority.

Noble – A Divine Geist Kinder that is part of a ruling family of a district.

Royal – A Divine Geist Kinder that is part of the ruling family of Eden.

The Royal Court & Heir Ascension

This section explains the exceedingly organized structure used by the Geist Kinder to determine ascension to the throne in regards to the royal families of Koslovya.  The excessive organization, which is juxtaposed against the wild cards that are Children of the Court, serves only to intensify the impact of the chaos when a wild card is drawn.

The Royal Family of the Geist Kinder uses the following rules to determine the Heir(s) to the Throne:

The court consists of four thrones.  These four thrones may be filled in three ways:

1.  Perfect Alignment:  Twin Queens --  The Queen Superior (first born) and Queen Minor (second born), plus an opposite sex Royal Consort for each.  Heirs:

a.       The first twins to contain a daughter of Queen Superior
b.       The first twins to contain a daughter of Queen Minor
c.       The second twins to contain a daughter of Queen Superior
d.       The second twins to contain a daughter of Queen Minor
e.       Etc.
f.       If no female twins, the heir is the Children of the Court

2.  Neutral Alignment:  Twin King and Queen --  The King and Queen, plus an opposite sex Royal Consort for each.  Heirs:

a.       The first twins to contain a daughter of Queen Superior
b.       The second twins to contain a daughter of Queen Superior
c.       Etc.
d.       If no female twins, the heir is the Children of the Court

3.  Flawed Alignment:  Twin Kings --         The King Superior (first born) and King Minor (second born), plus an opposite sex Royal Consort for each.  Ascension of this alignment is only possible if the heir is the Children of the Court.  Heirs:

a.       The first twins to contain a daughter of King Superior
b.       The first twins to contain a daughter of King Minor
c.       The second twins to contain a daughter of King Superior
d.       The second twins to contain a daughter of King Minor
e.       Etc.
f.       If no female twins, the heir is the Children of the Court

Additional Rules

Death of Queen Superior means Queen Minor takes over

Death of only Queen means heir takes over, next line assumes throne.  If under 16, it is symbolic only and remaining court reigns.

Definitions of Roles

Noble Consorts: Offspring of the court that are not in line for the throne are wed to other noble families as Noble Consorts.  Great care is taken when matching up Consorts to keep twins together.

Royal Consorts:  The spouses of the rightful heirs to the throne.  Since the rightful heirs are brothers and sisters, they cannot breed.  In order to keep the bloodline pure, Royal Consorts are the descendants of Noble Consorts, and are thus also distant relatives of the Royal Family.  No relative closer than third cousin may become a Royal Consort.  If a Noble Queen’s daughter is not expected to take the throne, she can become the Royal Consort of the Royal King.  The Noble Queen’s daughter’s twin daughters may become Brides of the Court.

Grooms of the Court:  Males who are eligible according to blood line to inseminate Brides of the Court

Brides of the Court:  Female pairs of twins that are the daughters of Kings and their Royal Consorts can be married to the Grooms of the Court.

The Children of the Court:  The offspring of Brides of the Court and the Grooms of the Court.  When this is done, an elaborate mating ceremony is performed where the female twins are seeded by all eligible parties of royal decent, anonymously.  The father is unknown.  Their children, whatever their sexual alignment, are the heirs, known as The Children of the Court.  It is considered a worst case scenario, leaving the throne intact, yet weak.  Heirs are in line for the throne as follows:

a.       The first twins to contain a daughter of Bride of the Court Superior
b.       The first twins to contain a daughter of Bride of the Court Minor
c.       The first male twins of Bride Superior or Minor
d.       The first twins to contain a daughter of Bride of the Court Superior, II*
e.       The first twins to contain a daughter of Bride of the Court Minor, II*
f.       The first male twins of Bride Superior, II or Minor, II*

*        If no offspring from these Brides of the Court are produced, the mating ceremony is repeated every month when the Brides are in season for 18 months.  After this time, if no offspring exist and additional twin daughters of the King and his Royal Consort exist, they can also be married to the Grooms of the Court, and are known as Bride of the Court Superior, II & Bride of the Court Minor, II.  Their offspring will be considered valid Children of the Court, though the original brides will continue to be mated as well.

Court of
Queen Solanaceae Umbelliferum VII

When Eliara & Lavdia’s family was the Royal Family, the court was as follows:

Neutral Alignment:  The King, Kellis Trenton Umbelliferum, and Queen, Solanaceae Umbelliferum VII, plus an opposite sex Royal Consort for each

Heirs:

a.       The first twins to contain a daughter of Queen Superior
e.       The second twins to contain a daughter of Queen Superior
f.       Etc.
g.       If no female twins, the heir is the Children of the Court

Throne Heirs

(a.) Solanaceae Umbelliferum VIII & her missing twin, offspring of Queen Solanaceae Umbelliferum VII + Royal Consort, Thorian, twin of Revonia

(b.) Children of the Court  -- Offspring of twins Eliara-Lavidia Umbelliferum, who are the offspring of King Kellis Trenton Umbelliferum + Royal Consort, Revonia, twin of Thorian (Jithinia & Danielle in original incarnation were next in line, followed by Eldridge and Granville)

Additionally, twin sons, twelve years old, named Amos & Anton, are the children of King Kellis Trenton + Revonia, and are not eligible for the throne.
